Five species of free-living four-legged mites have been known from different Nearctic and Palearctic birches. A new species, Vasates milevskii, is described from leaves of Betula pubescens. The name of species is dedicated to the memory of V. B.Milevsky, who worked as a driver in the laboratory of Plant Acarology (in Biological Research Institute) and in the Kivach Reservation. Keywords:
