A review of syringophilid mites of the former USSR living on birds is presented. 21 species of mites, belonging to 13 genera are recorded. Among them, 7 species are described as new for science. The presence of 8 species and 1 genus in the territory is proposed to be highly probable. Identification keys are provided for all genera and species recorded.
