Annotation:

Two new quill mite species of the genus Syrin-gophilopsis (Syringophilidae) are described from African birds: S. nitens sp. n. fromMalimbus nitens (type host) and Hyphanturgus nigricollis brach-ypterus (Passeriformes: Ploceidae) and S. melit-tophagii sp.n. fromMelittophagus bullocki (Coraci-iformes: Meropidae).
