The genus Allopygmephorus Cross, 1965 is redefined. A new species, A. persicus sp. n., phoretic on an undetermined hydrophilid beetle (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae) is described from Iran. A new combination is proposed: Allopygmephorus tuberosus (Mahunka, 1969), comb. n. (from Neopygmephorus). Keywords:
