Annotation:

A new mite species of the genus Gaeolaelaps (Laelapidae) collected from soil-litter in Zanzibar, Tanzania, is described and illustrated based on morphological characters of adult females. Gaeolaelaps bochkovi sp. n. has the unusual character state of a three-tined palp tarsal apotele.
