Acknowledgments:
I am grateful to the collector of hosts, Alexei Abramov (ZIN), who has provided me with the full collection information, and to the late Andrey Bochkov (ZIN), who initially pointed out the pres- ence of chigger mites on the UAE specimens of Acomys dimidiatus. I am also thankful to my wife, Victoria Stekolnikova (ZIN), who has prepared the microscope slides as part of her volunteer activity. This research was supported by the cooperative agreement No. 122031100263-1 from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
Annotation:
First data on the chigger mites of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are obtained based on the material collected from alcohol-fixed specimens of the Arabian spiny mouse, Acomys dimidiatus (Cretzschmar), stored in a museum collection. Four species of chiggers are recorded, three of which were previously known from the nearby provinces of Iran.
