Annotation:

Adults of Brachytydeus bifurcatus sp. n. (Acari: Tydeidae) are described from the Carbon Measurement Test Area in the Tyumenslaya Oblast, Western Siberia, Russia. Numerous specimens were collected from the rotting material inside a Betula pendula tree hollow. The new species is characterized by an unusually deeply bifurcated seta d on the palptarsus and the “Tydeus” ornamentation type.
