A female of the flat mite Tenuipalpus ephedrae Livschitz and Mitrofanov (Acari: Tenuipalpidae) is redescribed, while male, larva, protonymph and deutonymph are described for the first time, based on materials collected from Ephedra distachya in Crimea. Four pairs of cupules (ia, im, ip, ih), which are evident in the female, are recorded for the genus Tenuipalpus for the first time. The homology of cupules im is discussed.
