A new species of spider mites, Schizotetranychus tjumeniensis n. sp., is described based on females and males collected from Timothy grass, Phleum pratense L. (Poaceae), in the city of Tyumen, Russia. The new species belongs to the schizopus species group and subgroup, and it is most similar to Sch. tbilisiensis Reck and Sch. tumidus Wang.
