The study was supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation within the framework of the Carbon Measurement Test Area in the Tyumenskaya Oblast (FEWZ-2024-0016). The authors are sincerely grateful to late Dr. V. A. Trach (I. I. Mechnikov National University, Odessa, Ukraine) for loaning the type materials of Archidispus posietis.Abstract:
The mite species Archidispus reductus sp. n. (Acari: Heterostigmata: Scutacaridae) is described based on phoretic females collected from wet forest litter in the Carbon Measurement Test Area located in the Tyumenskaya Oblast, Russia (Western Siberia). The poorly known species Archidispus posietis (Sevastianov, 1974) is redescribed based on the type materials.
