Two new feather mite species are described from the Japanese Robin Larvivora akahige (Pallas) (Passeriformes: Muscicapidae) in the Kuril Islands: Analges nipponicus sp. n. (Analgidae) and Trouessartia akahige sp. n. (Trouessartiidae). Males of A. nipponicus sp. n. are readily distinguishable from those of other currently known species of the genus Analges in having the hysteronotal shield with one median and a pair of lateral longitudinal grooves, as well as tarsus III with a short angular projection bearing seta w. Trouessartia akahige sp. n. is close to a small complex of Trouessartia species associated with Old World flycatchers (Muscicapidae) of the genera Calliope, Erithacus, Larvivora and Luscinia. It differs from them in having genital setae g situated at the level of the adanal apodemes in males, the primary spermaduct guide extremely long, and the interlobar membrane with a pair of sclerotized areas in females.
